Trauma & EMDR Therapy

Evidence-based therapy for trauma, PTSD, and the experiences that stay with you long after they've passed.

Get in touch

Trauma isn't always a single dramatic event. It's anything that overwhelmed your capacity to cope — and left a mark. It can show up as flashbacks, numbness, hypervigilance, shame, or a persistent sense that something is wrong with you. It can shape your relationships, your body, and the way you see yourself without you even realising it.

Trauma is also highly treatable. And you don't have to re-live every detail to heal from it.
Whatever form it's taken for you, you don't have to carry it alone.

Is This How You're Feeling?

Many clients who contact Mindflow describe feeling like the past is still very present.

Perhaps you're...

●  reacting strongly to things that "shouldn't" bother you this much

●  feeling on edge, unable to relax or switch off

●  avoiding people, places or situations without fully understanding why

●  struggling to trust yourself or others

●  feeling disconnected from your own body or emotions

●  carrying something from childhood that still shapes how you feel today

If any of these feel familiar, you're not alone. Therapy offers a safe and compassionate space to process what's happened and begin moving forward.

What To Expect

1. Book an appointment

Choose a time that suits you online or contact Sara directly.

2. Meet with Me

Your first session is an opportunity to understand what you're experiencing and discuss what support might look like.

3. Begin moving forward

Together we'll develop a personalised approach, using EMDR where appropriate, to help you process what's happened.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (— Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)  is one of the most well-researched treatments for trauma and PTSD, recommended by the WHO and supported by decades of clinical evidence. It works by helping your brain process distressing memories that have become "stuck" — so they lose their emotional charge and stop running the show.

Contrary to how it's sometimes portrayed, EMDR doesn't require you to talk through your trauma in detail. Many clients find it less confronting than traditional talk therapy, and often more effective.

The process

Trauma therapy at Mindflow always begins with stabilisation — building your capacity to manage difficult feelings before we approach traumatic material. We move at a pace that feels safe, and you remain in control throughout.
